I've been using Adobe Photoshop for more than a year now but I can't still perfect cloning an image from scratch. As you can see, it's not as perfect as you see but this is the best I can do.
Text/Star: "Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko" is the easiest thing to do in here, you just have to know the basics of the Pen Tool. Just trace the original text, create new layer and fill it with any color you want. Same as with the Red Green star, I just used Pen Tool for that. I prefer to have white text for the title since it's nicer to look than the original. Then, I just added a drop shadow to have some effect.
The Background: This is the very hard part for me. I tried to copy it in many ways for many times but one way to copy it almost the same (for me..hehe). I just use brushes. Yes, simply brushes. You need to be a little observant in he original image to copy it. I just changes the Shape Dynamics and the Scattering of a certain brush. Then added an outer glow effect and about the little curved lines in the right, I created it manually using Pen Tool. You must select the right color to make it looks the original one. So it won't be difficult for you, just used an eyedropper tool.
The Subject: You can choose whatever or whoever you want. For this one, I choose my girlfriend as my model (besides she's the one who request for). I just look for a picture of her that is right for the layout. ^^
